This minimizes conflicts between the consultants, and will show the client what the building will look like and how it goes together.

Our Expertise

Kerkhoff Engineering has developed in many areas over the years, and bringing on additional team members has given us a leading edge in numerous commercial, residential, and agricultural projects.

We have been recognized as one of the few design firms specializing in tilt up and precast concrete building systems. These projects vary from intricate churches, schools, and libraries to large industrial warehousing facilities.

We have also gained a lot of expertise in airport structures, ranging from terminal expansions and aircraft hangers, several of which have received design awards.

Our team also has considerable design experience with agricultural facilities, ranging from complex dairies to poultry, hog, and equestrian facilities.

We design in wood and heavy timber construction, steel, masonry, and reinforced concrete, as well as both cast-in-place and tilt-up concrete to suit the needs of the architect and owner.

Commercial

Our commercial design services projects like small retail, schools, churches, aviation facilities, warehousing, offices, and offices.

These services include everything from structural assessments of existing structures and seismic evaluation studies to complete structural services on new projects. We will use all the necessary design tools to ensure structures are analyzed to meet governing building codes and design guidelines. During construction, we will perform all necessary field reviews on behalf of the owner and contractor to ensure the structure is being built in general conformance with design requirements.

Agricultural

Our agricultural design services include dairy, hog, poultry, and equestrian.

We will meet with the owner and contractor to determine their present and future needs, and will put together building drawings, while working together with equipment suppliers. For additions to existing facilities, we also prepare as-built drawings of the existing facilities.

We will use all the necessary design tools to ensure structures are analyzed to meet governing building codes and design guidelines. Residential

Our residential design services include assessments of existing buildings, additions/renovations to existing structures, and new home construction.

Special Structures

Kerkhoff Engineering enjoys the challenge of designing special structures with varying building materials. These structures include metal shipping container design for various residential and commercial applications and various unique timber structures.
