Project Details
As part of the design team, working with Alpha Aviation, Kerkhoff Engineering developed an exposed timber frame option that was chosen as the preferred building system, over a more conventionally framed building. Working closely with Urich Laska Architects (www.ulac.net), the building boasts 20m clear span of curved glulam beams supported by a structural steel column tree structure providing vertical and lateral support. This project was built in 2009 with Haebler Group (www.haeblerconstruction.com) acting as the general contractor. The unique airport terminal building and parking lot has won LEED Silver accreditation.
